Rib Cage Tattoos

Theophilus talks about the meaning of his rib side tattoos which extends all the way to the back. “The tattoo is my life story. I’m a Christian but not your average religious type. I have a strong personal faith relationship, not a religion. In “Christianese,” the tattoo would be called my “testimony.” I’m not really comfortable with that term though because it is alienating to people not familiar with it. The photos represent significant times in my life.
1 – grew up in a traditional church
2 – became a Christian at age 5
3 – grew in life and faith
4 – close family member died and I went through a very dark time in my life
5 – realized I needed God to take my world apart and start over
6 – since then, I’ve been working on seeing my life as a dandelion…I know I keep producing weeds, but God sees flowers.

last little fact: I have several tattoos. The church on my outer belly was by far the most painful one I’ve ever gotten! I do not plan to get something on the other side to match. Geesh!”
